The emblem of Military Intelligence
The emblem of Military Intelligence is placed on the Spanish shield divided into red and blue parts and lined by a blue-red-silver tricolor. There is a leaping silver twin-tailed Czech lion with a crown in the upper part of the shield. In the lower part, there are two crossed golden torches over which a golden tower with three-merlon crenellation is placed.
The emblem combines traditional symbolism of units which were subordinated directly to the General Staff at the time of their origination. Thus, the upper part of the emblem of Military Intelligence is represented by the upper half of the small national emblem and a tricolor line consisting of national colors. The symbols situated in the lower part feature the main tasks of the service. The torches represent shedding light on darkness and so they symbolize search for intelligence information in the transferred meaning of the word. The tower with crenellation and without windows means, on the contrary, strict guard of a confided secret. The emblem of Military Intelligence is involved in the Register of Emblems of Units of the Army of the Czech Republic at the Military Historical Institute in Prague.
